Balls and Ramps

The children have been discovering physics and motions using the balls and ramps.

I observed how Easton was adding lots of symmetry to his ramp and Grayson was choosing to spend more time on seeing how the size of the ball moved differently down the ramps. After choosing the ball he felt moved the fastest, Grayson began to add things from the environment to the end of his ramp to make the balls jump on at the end. Easton, who had been adding lights, bridges, and sharks, came over and asked to roll his ball down the ramp so his ball could jump. He watched where the ball landed and moved the egg carton so the balls would land in the carton. They both gathered three balls each in their hands to release at the same time to see how many would jump into the carton.
