We do not live by blocks of time.
We live by light, weather, and the quiet turning of the year.

At Muddy River, children grow inside the long arc of seasons. They are learning to feel time rather than race it. Our year is shaped by moon cycles, solstices, and equinoxes, and the subtle invitations the land offers as it shifts.

Time here is not a schedule.

It is a relationship.

Moon Cycles

We notice the full moon as a point of reflections and change. A time when energy rises, rest is needed, and children often move differently through their days.

We slow when needed.
We listen more closely.
We honor the body's quiet wisdom.

Solstice and Equinox

We pause with the turning points of the year.

Longest Light.
Deepest Night.

Balance.
Becoming.

These days markers of passage. Children learn that the world moves in cycles, and that change is something
we can notice, name, and move through together.

The Graduation of Our Songbirds

When a child leaves Muddy River, it is not a promotion. It is a rite of passage.

Our Songbirds are honored for who they have become, the seasons they have been here, and the relationships they carry with them. Their leaving is held with care, meaning, and gentleness.

Living the Seasons.

Winter teaches stillness and endurance.
Spring invites
noticing and return.
Summer brings wandering and abundance.
Autumn teaches gathering and letting go.

Children learn these not from books
but from living inside each season.
