Birdsong Bend

We’re back at “The Forest”. 🥹

It looks so incredibly different now that we’ve renamed this little stretch Birdsong Bend, but having this space back feels so special.

We scooped up everything we needed for a picnic, grabbed the soccer balls, loaded everyone into the bike, and headed out.

I am endlessly grateful for the pond and prairie right outside my back door. We know those spaces deeply, and they give us so much. But there is something different about being tucked beneath a canopy of trees.

The way the sounds soften and the rest of the world seems to disappear a little.

And then you realize the loudest thing you can hear is your own little group of children nearby deep in a story they’ve created together, laughing.

There is something so deeply beautiful about that.

Birdsong Bend feels different than it used to.

But it still feels like ours.
